Agnes Hoidahl Brown, 93 Reston, Va. - Agnes Hoidahl Brown, 93, died Oct. 18, 2003 in Reston, Va. A memorial service was held in Reston at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was born to Olav and Hattie Hoidahl in Winger, in 1910. She attended Mahnomen High School, Crookston Teacher's College, and taught in Winger and Grygla. In 1935 she was united in marriage to Roy Brown. They settled in Thief River Falls where their daughters were born. Agnes was active in Trinity Lutheran Church and for four years worked at a local dress shop, where she enjoyed creating window displays. The family moved in 1955 and Agnes attended Moorhead State College. She then taught in Borup for 11 years. She and Roy moved to Reston, where Agnes continued to teach; then to Duluth where Agnes cared for Roy until his death, also at the age of 93, in October of 1991. Survivors include three daughters, Gail Ryan and Bonnie Allen of Reston, Va., and Julie (Joseph) Maiolo of Duluth; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A00003B2003NV12
