Lake
Bronson - Dale Bronson, 86, died Wednesday, May
16, 2001 at the Karlstad Healthcare
Center.
Funeral
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 21, at
Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Bronson with Rev.
Mitch Tolpingrud officiating. Lenore Olson was the
organist, and the soloist was Lola Germundson.
Casketbearers were Kenny Klegstad, Roger Jacobson,
Ricky Swanson, Mark Ingeman, Jeff Ingeman and Brian
Ingeman. Military honors were accorded by the
Halma-Lake Bronson American Legion Post. Interment
was in Riverside Cemetery at Lake Bronson with
Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad in charge of the
arrangements.
Dale
Raymond Bronson was born on December 30, 1914 at
Lake Bronson, the son of Ephriam and Eleanor
(Lindstrom) Bronson. He grew up and attended school
in Lake Bronson and was baptized and confirmed at
Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma. Dale served in
the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1945, serving in
Europe and fighting in the Battle of the
Bulge.
On
August 9, 1947, he was united in marriage to Myrtle
Bengtson at Hallock. The couple made their home in
Hallock where Dale worked for Kiene Farms. In 1948,
they moved to a farm in Norway township of Kittson
county near Lake Bronson. In 1962, they returned to
Hallock where he was employed by Glidden Farms. He
also worked at the American Crystal Sugar plant at
Drayton, N.D. where he helped build the plant. He
retired from American Crystal in 1976 and continued
to work for Glidden Farms until retirement in 1982.
Since December of 1999, he had resided at the
Karlstad Healthcare Center.
He
was a member of the Halma-Lake Bronson American
Legion Post.
Dale
is survived by his wife, Myrtle; two sons, Clayton
(Cindy) of Drayton, N.D. and Larry (Tabitha) of
Badger; a daughter, Deborah (Dan) Nordine of
Hallock; five grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd (Vera) of
Pinehurst, Idaho; two sisters, Margaret Billings of
Hallock and Donafae Anderson of Lake Bronson; and
several nieces, nephews and other
relatives.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; four
brothers, Art, Kenneth, Walter and Norman; and two
sisters, Ethel and Ellen.
