Garfield Brodahl, 82

Oslo - Garfield C. "Chink" Brodahl, 82, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Oslo with Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home of Warren in charge of the arrangements.

Garfield Clifford Brodahl was born on December 27, 1918 at Oslo, the son of Gilbert and Marie (Bosman) Brodahl. He was a life-long resident of the Oslo community. Garfield served in the U.S. Army during World War II from January 24, 1942 until his honorable discharge on October 22, 1945 when he returned to Oslo. For several years, he worked for Mallinger Brothers Farm.

He was a member of the Oslo American Legion and enjoyed hunting, watching sports on television and visiting with his friends in the Oslo community.

Garfield is survived by two sisters, Esther (Wilbert) Eide and Margaret Hendrickson, both of Oslo; two brothers, John (Doris) Brodahl of Anoka and Milton Brodahl of Thief River Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
