Kenneth Bray, 90

Ogema - Kenneth E. Bray, 90, died Monday, February 12, 2001 at St. Mary's Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.

Mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 17 at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Ogema. Interment was in the church cemetery with David-Donehower Funeral Home of Detroit Lakes in charge of the arrangements.

Kenneth Eugene Bray was born on December 30, 1910 near Ogema, the son of Peter and Eugenia (Bisson) Bray. He was raised and educated near Ogema.

On September 26, 1935 he married Julia Simon at Ogema. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad from 1933 to 1939 and for Soo Line Railroad from 1939 until 1975. Following his retirement from the railroad, he did custodial work at White Earth tribal offices, operated a strawberry patch near Ogema and was the caretaker for Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Julia died in 1997.

Kenneth is survived by seven sons, Donald (Annette) of North Pole, Alaska, Merelyn (Judy) of Grand Rapids, Virgil (Mary) of Hastings, Carroll (Kristie) of Holland, Mich., LeRoy of Ogema, Michael (Amelia) of Waubun, and Mark (Christina) of Gig Harbor, Wash.; two daughters, Germaine (Leo) Riegert of Waubun and Katherine (Dan) Hoffman of Crookston; 40 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Kenneth Jr.; a daughter, Stella; and eight brothers and sisters. A00003B2000FB21
