Allan Boughton, 80

Thief River Falls - Allan W. Boughton, 80, died on Sunday, September 28, 2003 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.

Funeral services will be held at Boughton, Allan 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1 (today) at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with the Rev. Mark Helgeland officiating. Casketbearers will be Allan's grandchildren, Bryce Boughton, Scott Randall, Jason Boughton, John Watercott, Christopher Watercott, Nathan Watercott and Matthew Watercott. Interment will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 2 at Lakeview Cemetery in Kenmare, N.D., with the Rev. Pete Weist officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Allan Walter Boughton was born on November 22, 1922 in Fargo, N.D., the son of Floyd and Olive (Freeburg) Boughton. He was raised and educated in Spencer Township.

On November 12, 1943, he married Mayme Smith in Minot, N.D. The couple lived and farmed on the family farm from 1943 until 1962. They moved to Kenmare, N.D., where Allan worked for EsCaDel Equipment. In 1972, they moved to Thief River Falls, where he was employed at the Fleet Farm Supply. After retiring, he worked for Home Lumber of Thief River Falls and Wallace Hanson of Viking. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking. Allan was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Eagles Club Aerie #2368, the Kiwanis Club and the Pennington County Sportsman's Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mayme; two sons, Ronald (Wilma) of Kenmare, N.D., and Gary (Karen) of Dent; one daughter, Janet (KJ) Sullivan of Mandan, N.D.; seven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters. A00003B2003OT01
