Veronica Boucher, 76

Brooks - Veronica Boucher, 76, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Service of Christian Burial was Boucher, Veroni…older photo held on Saturday, April 9 at St. Joseph's Church in Brooks, with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Casket bearers included Chuck Wichterman, Tony Wichterman, Paul Wichterman, Nick Boucher, Ben Boucher and Bryan Pederson. Interment was held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Brooks.

Veronica Betty Pigeon was born March 16, 1928, in Brooks, the daughter of Henri and Marie (Champagne) Pigeon. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Church in Brooks. She grew up and attended rural school near Brooks and graduated from Plummer High School in 1946. She was employed at Sears Mail Order for a short period of time.

On June 28, 1948, Veronica was united in marriage to Leonard E. Boucher at St. Joseph's Church in Brooks. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Milwaukee, Wis. for two years. They then made their home two miles west of Brooks for 40 years, where they ran a dairy farm and raised five children. In 1990, they moved to Brooks where she had since resided.

Veronica was a very active member of St. Joseph's Church and the Ladies Guild, St. Anne's Society, St. Joseph's Cemetery Board and American Legion Auxiliary Post 623 of Plummer. She liked to travel, embroider, read, play cards and visit with friends and relatives.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Leonard E. Boucher of Brooks; five children, Dennis (Diane) of McIntosh, Dianne (Bob) Wichterman of Chanhassen, Duane (Carol) of Brooks, Ron of Mt. Prospect, Ill. and Francella (Stan) Tvedt of Thief River Falls; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Sheldon (Rosie) Pigeon of Champlin.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter; her parents; a sister, Harriet Perreault; and an infant sister. A00003B2004AR14
