Donald Bottolfs, 59

Warroad - Donald Bottolfs, 59, of Warroad, died Wednesday October 15, 2003 at his home.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20 at Grace D. Bottolfsobit Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Peter Satren officiating.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery of rural Erskine.

Honorary Casket bearers were Erskine High School class of 1961, Donald's friends in the Wood Ultimate Department of Marvin Windows, Jim Hoel, Donnie Brown, Brian Larson, Warren and Pam Olson, Jim and Ann May Miller, Jeanine Emler, and all of Donald's relatives and friends. Active casket bearers were David Salveson, Dean Salveson, Alfred Prestegord, Clayton Qualley, Butch Moteberg, and Punk Moteberg.

Donald Bottolfs was born on November 12, 1943 in Fosston, to Thorleif and Emma (Salveson) Bottolfs. He was baptized, confirmed and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine.

He graduated from Erskine High School in 1961. After high school he worked for Don's Meat Market, City of Erskine Muncipal Liquor Store, and Tuffy's Bar and Lounge.

In 1976 he moved to Warroad and began a 26 year career with Marvin Windows and Door Company. He continued to work until the end of August when his health required him to take a leave of absense.

Even though Don suffered polio when he was 8 years old, he continued to live life to the fullest. He loved fast cars, enjoyed playing his guitar, being in a band, hunting, fishing and playing dominos. He was also a collector of the latest in electrical and electronic gadgets. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and his class of '61 get togethers.

Survivors include his sister, Lyla Moteberg and special friend Gordon Holter, both of Warroad; two nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents. A00003B2003OT22
