Loren Borsheim, 73

Thief River Falls - Loren Borsheim, 73, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Borsheim, Loren Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 26 at Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with the Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Casketbearers were the volunteer firemen. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls with military honors accorded by the American Legion and VFW.

Loren Austin Borsheim was born in Barnesville on July 8, 1930, the son of Art B. and Dagney (Johnson) Borsheim. He grew up in Barnesville and was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Barnesville. He moved with his family to Thief River Falls, where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. He attended Dunwoody Business College, where he took up printing. He entered the United States Army on December 26, 1950 and received his honorable discharge on September 15, 1951.

Loren served as a volunteer fireman in Thief River Falls for 20 years. He was the past commander of the American Legion Post in Thief River Falls. He was also the past president of the Eagles Aires, the Pennington County Sportsman Club and the Jaycees. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.

In May 1961, he married Gladys Elaine Fredrickson. He and his brother, Milan, started Borsheim Printing in 1960. Loren loved to hunt and fish and was a great handyman and carpenter.

Survivors include a daughter, Lynette Dennis of Proctor; a son, Murray (Laurie) of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Milan (Elaine) of Bagley and Kenneth (Helen) of Eau Claire, Wisc.; and a brother-in-law, Bruce Biddick of Uvalde, Texas.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vivian Biddick; and his step-father, Harry Schuster. A00003B2003JL30
