- Cecilia Borowicz, 92, died Thursday, June 27,
2002 at the Good Samaritan Center in
Warren.
Funeral
services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 1, at
St.
Stephen
Catholic Church in Stephen with Rev. August Gothman
and Rev. Vincent Miller celebrating. Marilyn Hanson
was the organist, and Cindy Kuznia was the song
leader. Cecilia's seven children served as
casketbearers with her grandchildren serving as
honorary bearers. Interment was in Assumption
Cemetery in Florian with Quanrud-DuBore Funeral
Home of Warren in charge of the
arrangements.
Cecilia
Kasprowicz was born on November 6, 1909 in Florian,
the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Kuznia)
Kasprowicz. She spent her early years in the
Florian area.
On
June 9, 1931, Cecilia was united in marriage to
Daniel Borowicz. The couple made their home in
Florian where they farmed. Daniel died on August
24, 1962. Cecilia moved to Stephen in 1971 and in
November of 1996 to the Good Samaritan Center in
Warren.
She
was an active member of Assumption Catholic Church
in Florian, St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stephen,
and the Senior Citizens Club in Stephen.
Cecilia
enjoyed flowers, reading, and especially, spending
time with her family and friends.
Survivors
include three daughters, Rita (Ted) Chwialkowski of
Stephen, Rosemary DeMeyere of Thief River Falls,
and Rhodella (Art) Ness of Clearwater; four sons,
Richard (Vonnie) Borowicz of Maplewood, Rudolph
(Vernice) Borowicz of Waconia, Raymond (Linda)
Borowicz of Alma, Mich., and Roger (Margaret)
Borowicz of Brooklyn Park; a daughter-in-law,
Adeline Borowicz of Strandquist; 25 grandchildren;
33 great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; one
step great-grandchild; two sisters, Lucille Gruhot
and Monica Kasprowicz, both of Crookston; a
brother, Sylvester Kasprowicz of Warren; and many
nieces and nephews.
Preceding
Cecilia in death were her parents; husband; a son,
Robert; a son-in-law, Raymond DeMeyere; four
brothers; and four sisters.
