Evelyn Bolstad, 87

Thief River Falls -- Evelyn Bolstad, 87, died on Monday, November 12, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2001 at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Rev. Wesley Langass officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 at the Green Funeral Home.

Evelyn Harriet Heiberg was born on May 3, 1914 at Asbury Hospital in Minneapolis, the daughter of Erick and Mary (Hendrickson) Heiberg. She attended school in Motley where the family moved when Evelyn was three years old. She was baptized and confirmed in Motley by a Presbyterian Minister.

When Evelyn was a young adult she moved with her family to Crookston, where she worked at Bethesda Hospital. She was united in marriage to Andy Shipstead on January 1, 1936 at Crookston. In 1949 he died and she later married Herbert Bolstad on March 6, 1950 at Crookston. The couple moved to Duluth two years later where Evelyn worked at St. Luke's Hospital in laundry and cleaning. In 1966 the couple moved to Thief River Falls. Herbert died in 1969.

Evelyn is a member of Abundant Life Free Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husbands; parents; five sisters, Elsie Zeiher, Cora Molley, Helen Heiberg, Muriel Simpson, and Edith Heiberg; and five brothers, John Heiberg, Harry Heiberg, Pershing Heiberg and two others.
