Leona Bobrowski, 88

Thief River Falls - Leona Bobrowski, 88, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Graveside services were held on Monday, April 19, at De Pines Cemetery in Stevens Point, Wis.

Leona Brendemuehl was born on September 6, 1915 in the town of Easton, Wis., the daughter of William and Albertina (Heise) Brendemuehl. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith.

She was united in marriage to James Gebauer in 1947. He died in 1955. In 1965 she married Joseph Bobrowski. He died in 1969. Leona was a homemaker, and after losing her husbands, she lived with her brother, Martin and her sister, Adelia.

In her younger years, Leona enjoyed playing cards and going to polka dances. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.

Survivors include three children, Leonard (Bonnie) Gebauer of Schofield, Wis., Gary (Barbara) Gebauer of Thief River Falls and Carol (Paul) Schmutzler of Schofield, Wis.; several grandchildren; and nephew, Roger (Judy) Brendemuehl of Clintonville, WI.

She is preceded in death by her husbands; one son, Conrad; one daughter, Mary; and four brothers, Clarence, William, Elgart, and Martin. A00003B2004AR21
