Rapids - Dorothy J. Blade, 79, died Thursday,
May 2, 2002 at Itasca Nursing Home in Grand Rapids.
Funeral
services were held Monday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at St.
Andrew's Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids with Rev.
George B. Gilbertson officiating. Rowe Funeral Home
of Grand Rapids was in charge of the arrangements.
Dorothy
J. Bahr was born on August 18, 1922 in Bemidji, the
daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Guy) Bahr. She grew
up and attended schools in Bemidji.
On
December 27, 1945, she married Iver C. Blade in
Bemidji. The couple resided in Bemidji, Viking,
Deer River, and Saxon, Wisc. before settling in
Grand Rapids in 1976. Iver died on November 5,
2001.
Survivors
include two sons, Randy (Ann) Blade and Gregory
(Alice) Blade, both of Grand Rapids; a sister,
Elaine (Earl) Wagner of Park Rapids; and five
grandchildren.
In
addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in
death by her parents; two sisters, Hazel Groshong
and Valreia "Babe" Groshong; and a brother, Joseph
