Fosston
- Josie Bjerklie, 90, formerly of Trail, died
Saturday, June 9, 2001 at First Care Nursing Home
in Fosston.
Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 18, at
Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Trail, with Rev. Bob
Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Sand Valley
Lutheran Cemetery, rural Trail.
Visitation
will be held for one hour prior to services at the
church. Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Service of Fosston
is in charge of the arrangements.
Josie
Bergerson was born on August 30, 1910 in Johnson
township near Trail, the daughter of Ole and Amanda
(Skyberg) Bergerson.
On
November 15, 1933, she was united in marriage to
Clarence Bjerklie in Fosston. The couple lived at
rural Gully until 1943 when they moved to Gully
township near Trail. After Clarence's death on
February 28, 1965, Josie continued to make her home
on the farm until 1995 when she suffered a stroke
and moved to First Care Nursing Home in
Fosston.
She
was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church
and its Ladies Aid.
She
enjoyed making doughnuts and lefse.
Josie
is survived by a daughter, Joyce (Emil) Strandberg
of Clearbrook; two sons, Orvis (Delores) Bjerklie
of Mountain Iron and Dale (Cindy) Bjerklie of
Trail; a sister, Ellen Munter of Fosston; five
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two
brothers, Palmer and Clarence Bergerson; four
sisters, Annie Christianson, Minnie Bergerson, Lily
Bergerson and Olga Langseth; a niece; and a nephew.
