Margaret Bjerken, 65

Thief River Falls - Margaret Bjerken, 65, died on Sunday, November 3, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Private funeral services will be Bjerken, Margaret held on Thursday, November 7 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Rev. Arlen Hermodson officiating. Joyce Halbasch will be the organist and Sally Erickson will be the soloist. Special music will include "On Eagles Wings" and "Here I Am Lord." Casketbearers will be Jennifer Bjerken, Nicholas Bjerken, Melissa Westlake, Mike Westlake, Andrew Sourdif, Jade Sourdif and Cambell Thompson. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Margaret Mary Haider was born on March 11, 1937, the daughter of Frank Joseph and Mary (Brandle) Haider in Thief River Falls. She was baptized at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. She attended St. Bernard's Catholic School and Lincoln High School. On April 23, 1955, Margaret was united in marriage to Gordon Joseph Bjerken.

She worked for a few years at Arctic Cat. Margaret was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and playing bingo. She especially enjoyed being with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon; four children, Steven (Kathy) of Thief River Falls, Debra (John) Westlake of Grand Rapids, Denise (Lonnie) Thompson of Thief River Falls and Susan (Wayne) Sourdif of Ada; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Catherine Harris of Whittier, Calif., Frances McCreery of Lincoln, Neb. and Rose (Hank) McLain of Hatfield, Ariz.; two brothers, Philip Haider of Thief River Falls and Dennis Haider of Hungry Horse, Mont.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents. A00003B2002NV06
