Ethel Bjerk, 85

Roseau - Ethel Bjerk, 85, died on Thursday, February 20, 2003 at the Greenbush Nursing Home in Greenbush.

Private family graveside servic Ethel Bjerk es were held on Saturday, February 22 in the Holt Cemetery in Holt, with the Rev. Roy Johnson officiating.

Ethel Frances King was born on January 29, 1918, the daughter of George E. and Clara (Wegge) King in Fargo, N.D. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Her father died before she was a year old and the family moved to Holt, where she grew up and attended school. She moved to Roseau County in 1939.

Ethel was an accomplished seamstress and worked for Arctic Enterprises in Thief River Falls and for Northern Upholstery in Roseau. She lived in Warren for 14 years, where she was a caregiver for four years before she moved to the North Star Apartments in Roseau in 1991. She had been a resident of the Greenbush Nursing Home for the past year.

Survivors include two sons, LaVern (Della) Bjerk of Bend, Ore. and Curtis (Jeanine) of Roseau; two daughters, LaVonne (Quentin) Johnson of Badger and Nadine (Dave) Koebernick of Roseau; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. A00003B2003FB26
