Texas - Vivian Biddick, 77, died on Saturday,
March 1, 2003 at Uvalde Memorial
Hospital.
Memorial
services were held on Friday, March 7 at
Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary Chapel with the Rev.
Grady Roe officiating.
Vivian
Borsheim was born on February 8, 1926, the daughter
of Arthur and Dagney (Johnson) Borsheim, in
Barnesville. In 1942, they moved to Thief River
Falls, where she graduated from high school in
1944. She graduated from Glenwood Hills Psychiatric
Hospital with a degree in nursing in 1946.
On April
23, 1958, Vivian was united in marriage to Bruce
Biddick in Thief River Falls. The couple moved to
Fargo, N.D., where Bruce graduated from pharmacy
school. The couple then moved to Lakefield, where
they owned and operated Biddick Drugs. While living
in Lakefield, Vivian wrote articles for the
"Fairmont Sentinal." In 1960, the couple moved to
San Antonio, Texas, and operated Main Street Drugs
for three years before moving to Uvalde, Texas in
1963. Vivian worked with her husband in several
pharmacies including, Rexall Drug, Gibsons,
Medisave and H.E.B., where she worked until her
retirement. She was known as the "Vitamin Lady" by
clients. She wrote "Squib by Viv" for the "Uvalde
Leader News." The Biddicks spent their summers in
Minnesota at their cabin on Sand/Sylvia Lake, where
they gardened, canned, jellied and jammed
everything from carrots to chokecherries. Vivian
was also once an active member and president of
Green Thumb Garden Club. She enjoyed cooking,
tending African violets, sewing, quilting,
crossword puzzles and playing bridge.
Survivors
include her husband, Bruce; two daughters, Barbara
(Jim) Reedy of Deming, N.M., and Marsha Edwards of
Deming, N.M.; two sons, Jon (Kathy), and Todd
(Donna), both of Uvalde, Texas; three brothers,
Kenneth (Helen) Borsheim of Eau Claire, Wisc.,
Milan (Elaine) Borsheim of Bagley, and Loren
Borsheim of Thief River Falls; a sister-in-law,
Marie Biddick of Fargo, N.D.; nine grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Vivian
was preceded in death by her parents.
