Douglas Berg, 70

Ettrick, Wisc. - Douglas Berg, 70, formerly of Middle River, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002.

Memorial services were held at Hanson obit rural Ettrick, Wisc. on Saturday, June 8. Memorial services were also held on Monday, June 10, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Thief Lake. Interment was in the cemetery at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Thief Lake.

Douglas E. Berg was born on May 20, 1932 in Alvarado, the son of Ernest and Alma Berg. He graduated from Middle River High School and served with the U.S. Army.

In October of 1956, Douglas married his wife, Christa. He attended Augsburg College and Bemidji State College. He received his master's degree and began his teaching career in Sioux Falls, S.D. He taught in the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeua (Wisc.) school district for 20 years, retiring due to ill health.

Survivors include his wife, Christa; a son, Steve of Miami, Fla.; a daughter, Monika (Ron) Oeltjen of Rosemount; a granddaughter; his mother, Alma; three brothers, Jerome (Mary Ann) Berg and Earl (Lynette) Berg, both of Middle River, and Gene (Anita) Berg of Lake City; and two sisters, Patricia (Hjalmer) Hanson and Judy (Harry) Scramstad, both of Middle River.

Preceding Douglas in death was his father. A00003B2002JU19
