Beach, Fla - Robert C. Becklund, 78, of Port
Orange, Florida, died on Wednesday October 22,
2003, at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach,
Fla. A memorial service will be held at 2p.m. on
Nov. 15, 2003 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at
4831 Grand Avenue in Duluth with Pastor John Hanson
officiating.
Robert
Becklund was born on Nov. 10, 1924 in Karlstad, the
son of Peter and Agnes Becklund. He worked as a
carpenter and wood harvester until 1965 when he
moved to Duluth where he owned and operated a full
service car wash until his retirement in 1986. He
moved to Florida in 1999. He loved
fishing,
woodworking and was a Minnesota Viking
fan.
He
is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bernadine; two
daughters, Melanie (Randy) Dalbec, St. Paul and
Lorreen, Milwaukee; stepson, Ralph (Janet)
Bierbaum, St. Paul; one brother, Russell ,
Minneapolis and one sister, Astrid Fredrick, Grover
City, CA.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers,
Ruben and Ralph; and two sisters, Eunice and
Clarice.
