River Falls - Wilbert Barnhart, 51, died
Friday, October 12, 2001 at the CNC Unit of
Northwest Medical Center in Thief River
Falls. 
Funeral
services were held at 10 a.m. at New Life Family
Worship Center in Thief River Falls with Rev.
George Bunnell officiating. Kathy Panek was the
organist, and the soloist was Julie Waterworth.
Casketbearers were John Bring, Rodney Barnhart,
Mark Flaten, Steve Wasley and Don Kezar. Interment
was in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Granville
Township of Kittson County. Green Funeral Home of
Thief River Falls was in charge of the
arrangements.
Wilbert
"Willie" Charles Barnhart was born on October 9,
1950 at Mora, the son of Clarence and Betty
(Butenhoff) Barnhart. He grew up in North
Minneapolis and resided in Faribault for eight
years. In the early 1970s, he moved to Thief River
Falls.
Willie
enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and collecting
eagles. He never liked to wear a winter coat and
wore short-sleeved shirts, even when temperatures
sank to 30 below. In recent years, Willie was seen
driving around Thief River Falls in his
wheelchair.
Survivors
include a daughter, Krystal (fiance Michael
Peterson) of Lancaster; parents Clarence (Helen)
Barnhart of Sterling, Colo.; a sister, Dotty Ann
(John) Cary of Andover; and several nieces,
nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He
was preceded in death by his mother and
