Lloyd Ballingrud, 83

Everett, Wash. - Lloyd H. Ballingrud, 83, died March 6, 2001.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, at Solie Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Floral Hills Cemetery at Lynnwood, Wash.

Lloyd Harold Ballingrud was born on March 31, 1917 in Thief River Falls, the son of Martin and Nora Ballingrud.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1936 and served three years. In 1942, he enlisted again and served an addition three and one-half years as a paratrooper during World War II. He received a Bronze Service medal, Good Conduct medal and the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his former wife, Clarice Olson; a daughter, Linda (Peter) Hrebeniuk of Everett, Wash.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Morris Ballingrud and Gordon Ballingrud, both of Minnesota; two sisters, Lorraine Krooks of Wisconsin and Thelma Bryant of Orcas Island, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Wallace, Ernest and Kenneth; and two sisters, Mae and Myrtle. A00003B2000AP18
