
Portland, ND - Kathryn Jordet Ayres, 69, died Friday, April 9, 1999 at her home in Portland, ND.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 12 at Bruflat Lutheran Church in Portland, ND with Pastor John Juhl officiating. Deb Kyllo was the organist, and the soloist was Dean Erickson. Scott Ulland and Scott Simley were ushers. Casketbearers were Merle Strand, Jon Bakkum, Luther Simley, Mike Bradner, Douglas Ulland and Bruce Malwitz. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. The Baker Funeral Home of Mayville, ND was in charge of the arrangements.
Kathryn Ulland was born on March 16, 1930 in Mayville, ND, the daughter of Edwin and Anna (Ihlhagen) Ulland. She grew up and attended school in Portland, ND, graduating from Portland High School.
On October 11, 1947 she was united in marriage to Wallace Jordet in Crookston. The lived in Mayville, ND and later moved to Thief River Falls. Kathryn attended the Area Vocational Technical Institute in Thief River Falls, majoring in cosmetology. In 1969 the couple moved to Mora and lived there until 1971 when they moved to Bemidji.
On July 19, 1980 she married Lowell Ayres. Kathryn lived in Rochester until retiring to Hackensack. While living there she enjoyed gardening, crafts and quilting. She later moved to Portland, ND.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and was a member of Bruflat Lutheran Church of Portland, Mayville American VFW Auxiliary and Portland American Legion Auxiliary.
Kathryn is survived by two sons, Steven Jordet of Baudette and Gary (Bobbi) Jordet of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren; three brothers, Andy (Helen) Ulland of Bella Vista, AR, Manvel (Ruth) Ulland of Grenora, ND and Hilman (Charlene) Ulland of Granville, ND; one sister, Avis (Art) Grandalen of Portland, ND; two sisters-in-law; and a special friend, Phyllis Hamilton of Portland, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace; four brothers, Sydney, Alvin, Milnor and Ervin; and one sister, Marion.
