
Noella Audette, 85
Red Lake Falls - Noella Audette, 85, died Thursday, March 30, 2000 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 3 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Kathie Knott was the organist, and special music was provided by St. Joseph's Church Choir. Casketbearers were Noella's grandsons, Jeff Hill, Dan Audette, Stephen Audette, Tom Morrison, Chris Morrison, Jonathon Weiss and Joshua Hansen. Honorary casketbearers were her granddaughters. Interment was in St. Joseph's Church Cemetery in Red Lake Falls. The Petterson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Noella Lorraine Lasha was born on December 25, 1914 at Argyle, the daughter of Emery and Josephine (Morin) Lasha. Noella was raised and attended school at Argyle. The family lived in various places in the Upper Midwest before settling near Red Lake Falls during the early 1930s.
On June 20, 1933, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Audette at Dorothy. The couple farmed near Red Lake Falls until 1950 when they moved into Red Lake Falls. Noella sold insurance for Farmers Union and worked for the ASCS office in Red Lake Falls for 15 years. Lawrence died on December 8, 1983. From 1985 to 1987, Noella lived in Oregon before returning to Red Lake Falls. In June of 1999, she moved to Valley Home in Thief River Falls, and in January of 2000, moved to Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.
Noella was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its Guild, was a past regent of the Catholic Daughters, was active in RSVP and served on the Governor's State Centennial Committee in 1957-58.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cross-stitching, traveling and fishing with her family.
Noella is survived by five daughters, Lou Ann (John) Rode of Coos Bay, OR, Judy (Hugh) Morrison of Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada, Laurie (Larry) Filipinski of Lake in the Hills, IL, Terry (Gary) Weiss of Red Lake Falls, and Mary Jo Audette of Anchorage, AK; one son, LeRoy (Carol) Audette of Red Lake Falls; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Goulet of Thief River Falls and Laurian Lasha at Mount St. Benedict in Crookston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; one grandson, David Audette; and two brothers, Robert Lasha and Clem Lasha. A00003B2000AP05
