
Oklee - Tom Asselin, 82, died Monday, March 30, 1998 at Fosston First Care Hospital in Fosston.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee with Father Joe Richards officiating. Charity Wicks was the organist, and Erin Melby was the soloist. Casketbearers were all of Tom's nieces and nephews. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Tom Phillip Asselin was born on February 29, 1916 to Onezime and Permelia (Hince) Asselin in Lambert township near Oklee. He was raised and attended school there. Tom lived on and farmed the home farm his entire life, raising cattle and horses. He raised rabbits as a hobby. For the last two years Tom has resided at the Senior Homes in Oklee.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church.
Tom is survived by three sisters, Mayme Berberich of Brooks, Lucille (Marvin) Strande of Crookston, and Bernyce (Raymond) Wicks of Oklee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joe, Walter and Harvey; and three sisters, Rose, Cora and Celene.
