- Roland Asselin, 56, died on Tuesday, March
16, at his residence in Roosevelt.
Mass
of Christian Burial for Roland Asselin of Roosevelt
was held on Saturday at 11 a.m., at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Warroad. Military honors were
provided by the Warroad American Legion.
Roland
Asselin, the son of Clarice (Deschene) and Homer
Asselin was born December 12, 1947 in Crookston. He
attended high school in Oklee, graduating in 1967.
On March 6, 1976 he and Nancy Srnsky were united in
marriage in Thief River Falls.
Roland
worked for Detroiter Mobile Homes in Red Lake
Falls, and then worked in the sugar beet business
in Crookston. They later moved to Roosevelt and he
worked at Marvin Windows and Doors for four years.
He had been a carpenter in the area for the past 14
years. Roland enjoyed woodworking very much, and
had been working on finishing his new workshop at
home. He liked watching football, and his favorite
show on TV, Star Trek.
Survivors
include his wife Nancy of Roosevelt; daughters,
Kari of Fosston and Nicole of Roosevelt; one son,
Lucas of Roosevelt; mother Clarice; sisters,
Rosella Pietruszewski of Argyle, Stella (Dwight)
Howard of Inver Grove Heights, Phyllis Sulerud of
Crookston, Evelyn Finseth of Fosston, and
Bernadette Hagl of Thief River Falls; brothers,
Bernard (Pam) of Oklee and Duane (Pat) of Oklee;
sisters-in-law Margie Coan, Angie Sanders, Joy
(Norman) Olson, Judy (Ronald) Rustan, and Betty
(David) Peterson; and many aunts, uncle's nieces,
nephews, and friends.
He
was preceded in death by his father;
brothers-in-law, Jerry Srnsky, Arlin Sanders and
