Irene Aspevig, 63

Crookston - Irene M. Aspevig, 63, died Monday, February 15, 1999 at her home in Crookston.

Funeral services were held on Friday, February 19 at 2 p.m. at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Red Lake Falls.

Irene M. Wetenkamp was born on December 24, 1935 at Red Lake Falls, the daughter of Erwin C. and Edith (Feragen) Wetenkamp. She lived with her parents in rural Red Lake Falls and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1954.

From 1954 to 1958 she lived in Rudyard, MT where she worked for the Triangle Telephone Company and the Farmers-Merchants Bank. Irene was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rudyard.

On June 30, 1957 she was united in marriage Roger Aspevig at Rudyard, MT. The couple lived in Grand Forks, ND for a year where Irene was employed at First National Bank. In 1959 the couple moved to Great Falls, MT where Irene worked as an assistant cashier at Citizens Bank of Montana. In 1967 Irene and Roger moved Wahpeton, ND and then to Crookston in 1970.

Irene is survived by her husband, Roger; one son, James (Deb) Aspevig of Helena, MT; two grandsons; one brother, Erwin W. (Marilyn) Wetenkamp of Red Lake Falls; one sister, Emma (John) McKeever of Fargo, ND; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
