Grand Forks,
N.D. - Jeffrey Asp, 37, died Friday, August 25, 2000 in an
automobile accident near Thief River Falls.
Funeral services
were held at 2 
p.m. on Tuesday,
August 29 at the New Life Assembly of God Church in Thief River
Falls, with Rev. George Bunnell officiating. Organist was Kathy Panek
with soloist Julie Waterworth. Congregational hymns were "The Old
Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art". Casketbearers were Todd
Greisen, Dave Schantzen, Dan Vandeventer, Jesse Wilson, Nicholas
Wilson and Scott Wilson. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief
River Falls.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 28 at the Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, with a 7 p.m. prayer service and for one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
Jeffrey Dean Asp was born on August 3, 1963 in Thief River Falls, the son of Jim and Jeanette (Kostrzewski) Asp. He grew up and attended school in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1982.
He served in the U.S. Army and had been stationed in Georgia and later with the Army Reserves. He returned to Thief River Falls and worked for a roofing company. He then worked at Arctic Cat as a welder for 10 and one-half years. He was currently employed at Valley Construction and living in Grand Forks, N.D.
Jeffrey worked on small engines and bicycles. He was very mechanical and like to tinker with anything. He enjoyed hunting deer and ducks and racing in Greenbush in his car #63. He also liked demolition derbies.
He is survived by his daughter, Naomi, and son Kyle, both of Thief River Falls; his parents; sisters, Jean Wilson of Thief River Falls, June (Guy) Skluzacek of South Haven, Miss. and Jennifer (Steven) Rice of Lancaster; brothers, Jay (Barbara) of Thief River Falls and Jerrold of Grand Forks, N.D.; a grandmother, Alice Kostrzewski of Argyle; four nieces, seven nephews and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by three grandparents, Walter and Muriel Asp and Steve Kostrzewski and an uncle, Frank Asp.
