- Clifford Arveson, 86, died on Friday, August
22, 2003 at the CNC Unit of Northwestern Medical
Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral
services were held on
Tuesday,
August 26 at Nazareth Lutheran Church of rural
Trail with the Rev. Joseph Abrahamson officiating.
Casketbearers were Loren Arveson, Martin Solseng,
Jr., Howard Hanson, Marvin Bakken, Robert Olson and
Leslie Wilde. Interment was in Nazareth Cemetery in
rural Trail.
Clifford
Arveson was born in Hickory Township on December
24, 1916, the son of Eddie and Hannah (Bakken)
Arveson. He was baptized and confirmed in the
Lutheran faith. He grew up and attended Little Oak
Country School.
On
January 6, 1946, he married Luella Hanson at the
H.T. Hanson home. He lived and worked on the family
farm until he moved into the CNC Unit at Northwest
Medical Center in Thief River Falls in June 2001.
Clifford was an active member of Nazareth Lutheran
Church and was involved in various community and
church organizations. He loved to hunt, fish and
play cards, but he especially enjoyed visiting with
friends and neighbors.
Survivors
include his wife, Luella; two sons, Dale (Candi) of
Mount Lake Terrace, Wash., and Gene (Evon) of
Trail; two grandchildren; two brothers, Verner
(Mildred) of Oklee and Lloyd (Mae) of International
Falls; a sister, Alvina (Alfred) Hanson of Thief
River Falls; and several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Clifford
was preceded in death by his parents and a foster
brother, Vernon Christianson.
