- Anna Arveson, 97, formerly of Gonvick, died
Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at Good Samaritan Home
in Clearbrook.
Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February
17, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, rural Trail, with
Rev. Steven Sparley officiating. Burial was in the
church cemetery with Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home
of Fosston in charge of the
arrangements.
Anna
Christina Mostrom was born on May 21, 1903 in
Wyandotte township near Thief River Falls, the
daughter of Alfred and Johanna (Hanson) Mostrom.
She grew up in Hickory township near
Trail.
On
December 9, 1924, Anna was united in marriage to
Albert Arveson. The couple purchased a farm in
Johnson township on the south side of the
Clearwater River. Anna and Albert resided and
earned their livelihood there until the late 1950's
when they retired and moved to Gonvick. Anna lived
in Gonvick until 1997 when she became a resident of
Good Samaritan Home in Clearbrook.
She
was a member of Nazareth Lutheran
Church.
Anna
enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Survivors
include two sisters, Gladys Wilson of Jordan and
Elna Gunderson of Stacy; and several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Anna
was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; her
parents; three brothers, Elmer, Leonard and Victor
Mostrom; and three sisters, Selma Tveiten, Millie
Mostrom and Emma Dahle.
