Earl Arnold, 79

Thief River Falls - Earl Arnold, 79, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 20 at 2 p.m. at New Life Assembly of God Church with Pastor George Bunnell officiating. Vi Barr was the pianist, and vocal music was provided by Rhoda Wengler and Marie Anderson. Casketbearers were Lonnie Norberg, Justin Norberg, Mike Konickson, Wayne Konickson, Chad Nelson and Rick Stokke. Honorary casketbearers were Earl's granddaughters, Don Culkins, Sid Culkins, Harold Sabo and Wes Johnson.

Earl Ralph Arnold was born on July 22, 1918 near Angus to Arthur and Emma (Bucholz) Arnold. He attended rural schools in the Angus-Tabor area and grew to adulthood there.

On September 2, 1940 he was united in marriage to Wilma Johnson at St. Hilaire. The couple farmed in Wyandotte township of Pennington county. In 1964 they moved into Thief River Falls, and Earl started Arnold Realty Company. Wilma died on June 1, 1983. Earl moved to Anchorage, AK in 1989, returning to Thief River Falls in 1994, where he has since resided.

He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time at Wayne's cabin in Fourtown.

Earl is survived by one daughter, Linda Arnold of Edina; one son, Ronald (Jean) Arnold of Carson City, NV; one son-in-law, Wayne Konickson of Grygla; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray (Inez) Arnold of Grand Forks, ND and Clifford Arnold of Barstow, CA; and one sister, Irene Martini of Williston, ND.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one daughter, Carol; parents; and two brothers, Kelly Arnold and John Arnold.
