Lake Falls - John Arneson, 71, died on
Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at Hillcrest Nursing Home
in Red Lake Falls.
Service
of the Word was held on Friday, May 16 at Johnson
Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls with the Rev. Tim
Bushy officiating. Polly Beyer was the organist and
pianist. Casketbearers were Dennis Erickson, Mark
Violette, Dale Violette, Wayne Violette, Les Rhode,
Frank Schmidt and alternate, Jim Benoit. Interment
was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Red Lake
Falls.
John
Robert Arneson was born on January 29, 1932, the
son of Millard E. and Rosa D. (Forche) Arneson, in
Sioux Falls, S.D. He was baptized in the Catholic
faith in Ada. He entered the United States Army on
July 24, 1952 and was honorably discharged on July
10, 1954.
On
November 5, 1973, he married Marie Schmidt in
Sisseton, S.D. He worked for farmers in the area,
Future Fuels in Thief River Falls, American Crystal
Sugar in Crookston, was a car wash attendant and
caretaker of the Town View Estates I and II in Red
Lake Falls. He was a member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post #2793 of Thief River Falls. John
enjoyed watching football, especially the Minnesota
Vikings, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time
with his wife.
Survivors
include his wife, Marie of Red Lake Falls; and a
cousin.
John was
preceded in death by his parents.
