Alvin Arneson, 62

South Lake Tahoe, Nev. - Alvin L. Arneson, 62, died Wednesday, January 24, 2001.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 30, at Hope Lutheran Church in South Lake Tahoe.

Alvin L. Arneson was born on October 26, 1938 in Grygla, the son of Knute and Myrtle Arneson. He graduated from Goodridge High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 until 1959.

Since 1965, he had been self-employed as a service station owner and operator, first in Los Angeles with Chevron, then at South Lake Tahoe and since 1989, in Carson City, Nev. at A&C Texaco. He also distributed automotive products in South Lake Tahoe, Minden, Gardnerville and Carson City, Nev.

Alvin is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carol of South Lake Tahoe; a daughter, Jennifer of South Lake; a son, Jeffrey of Carson City; his mother, Myrtle Homme of Warroad; two sisters, Marilyn Myren of Paradise, Calif. and Carol Howland of Hawthorne, Calif.; an aunt; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father; stepfather, Knute Homme; and an infant brother, Leo.
