Florence Arndt, 90

Red Lake Falls - Florence Arndt, 90, died Saturday, May 26, 2001 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, May 30) at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Larry Mogan officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Green Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services.

Florence Fournier was born on May 23, 1911 in Red Lake Falls, the daughter of Isaac and Zelia (Bouscher) Fournier. She grew up and attended school in Red Lake Falls, graduating from high school in 1929.

On June 10, 1933, she was married to Rawlins Novak at Thief River Falls. They made their home near Wylie and farmed until Rawlins' death in 1965. Florence then attended Mayville State Teachers College and moved to Drake, N.D. She taught in Balfour, Mercer and later at rural Drake, N.D.

On August 19, 1967, she married Albert Arndt in Harvey, N.D. and they made their home in Drake. Albert died on June 19, 1997. Florence later moved to Thief River Falls and then to Hillcrest Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Jehovah Witness faith and attended congregations at Minot and Rugby in North Dakota and in Thief River Falls.

Survivors include two sisters, Faye Cyr of Lakewood, Calif. and Lorraine Harr of Onterio, Ore., and nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a sister, Susan Gregory; and two brothers, Paul and Sam Fournier.
