Raymond Appelman, 70

Catlin, Ill. - Raymond W. Appelman, 70, died Saturday, September 16, 2000 at Provena USMC, Logan campus.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, at Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown with Rev. Elmo Rodgers and Charles Pearman officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Raymond W. Appelman was born on May 9, 1930 in Thief River Falls, the son of Martin and Anna (Rempt) Appelman. On December 27, 1948, he married Beulah Taylor at Danville, Ill. He was employed by General Motors, retiring after 25 years of service.

Raymond enjoyed riding motorcycles, gardening, working in his yard and especially, spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah; a son Charles Martin (Paula) Appelman of Catlin, Ill.; a daughter, Fern Lorraine (Fred) Lockhart of Danville; two sisters, Helen Sweep of St. Paul and Catherine Hagman of Thief River Falls; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, two brothers, a sister and a great-grandchild. A00003B2000OC25
