Sophie Winjum Anderson, 85

Fargo, N.D. - Sophie Simonis Winjum Anderson, 85, formerly of Trail, died on Friday, October 4, 2002 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, N.D. sopie anderson

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 10 in St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham with Rev. David Rieder officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9 at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham with a 7 p.m prayer service.

Sophie was born on August 9, 1917, the daughter of Ray and Catherine (Eiden) Simonis in Trail. She graduated from Gonvick High School and attended nurse's training in Grand Forks, N.D. She married Art Winjum and after living in Enderlin, N.D., they moved to Perham to raise their family. She worked as a nurse for 18 years. Sophie was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and Christian Mother. In 1974, she married Kenny Anderson. The couple resided in Perham during their retirement years together. Sophie loved to pray, read and be involved in family activities. She also enjoyed the noon "Widow Luncheons."

Survivors include four sons, Art of Fergus Falls, Ed (Sigrid) of Perham, Tom (Joann) of Perham and Charlie (Deb) of Thief River Falls; three daughters, Barbera (Joe) Perrotta of Salem, N.H., Karen (Paul) Krueger of Nashau, N.H. and Alice (Bill) Karst of Fergus Falls; 23 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Wold Schaub; and four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Sophie was preceded in death by her husband, Art Winjum; a son, Garfield; husband, Kenny Anderson; one brother, Ray Simonis; and two sisters, Evelyn Lucachick and Millie Lucachick.
