Anderson, 86
Greenbush
- Sam Anderson, 86, died on Friday, April 18,
2003 at Greenbush Nursing Home.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday, April 22 at the
Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush with Jon
Knochenmus and Dean Dykstra officiating. Barbara
Swenson was the organist and Ray Swenson and
Lucille Simpson were the vocalists. Casketbearers
were Paul Knochenmus, Adolph Dahlquist, Larry
Borgen, Robert Nelson, Charles Olufson and Myron
Olufson. Interment was in Spruce Cemetery in
Roseau.
Sam Eric
Anderson was born on January 19, 1917, the son of
Belter A. and Nanny L. (Danielson) Anderson, in
Pencer. He grew up and attended school there. He
worked for American Crystal Sugar Co. in Drayton,
N.D., for several years. Earlier, he had worked for
Elert Paulson as the projectionist at the movie
theater in Greenbush. He also did repair work for
his neighbors, fixing cars, tractors, radios, TVs,
sewing machines and other items. He also did farm
work for his neighbors. Sam liked to read and
listen to music and enjoyed attending steam
threshing shows.
Survivors
include three sisters, Mildred Olufson of Thief
River Falls, Manda Knutson of Spokane, Wash., and
Gladys Tingley of Green Acres, Wash.; two nephews;
six nieces; and several grand-nieces and
grand-nephews.
Sam was
preceded in death by his parents and aunts and
uncles.
