- Ruth Anderson, 84, died on Wednesday, June
11, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Center in
Warren.
Funeral
services were held on Monday, June 16 at the First
Lutheran Church in Warren. Interement was in
Greenwood Cemetery in Warren.
Ruth
Johnson was born in Marsh Grove Township of
Marshall County on February 7, 1919, the daughter
of Gunnar and Emma (Hanson) Johnson. She spent her
early years in Warren, where she attended
school.
On
December 3, 1935, she was united in marriage to
Milton Anderson in Austin. The couple made their
home in McCrea Township of Marshall County, where
they farmed.
Ruth
belonged to the First Lutheran Church, where she
was active in the women's group and quilting and
was also and Adult Leader for the McCrea 4-H Club.
She enjoyed painting and artwork. Ruth and Milton
used to enjoy spending their winters in Mesa,
Ariz.
Survivors
include three children, Mona Rae (John) Lewis of
Gresham, Ore., Paul (Helen) of Warren and Dwight
(Cindy) of Warren; eight grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Andeen of
Warren; and one brother, Alger Johnson of Livonia,
Mich.
Ruth was
preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a
son, Halward; a sister, Pearl; and a brother,
