Robert W. Anderson, 60

Middle River - Robert W. Anderson, 60, died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at his home in St. Paul.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 7, at First Robert Anderson Lutheran Church in Middle River with Rev. Mary Ronning officiating. Lois Peterson was the organist, and vocalists were Lois Peterson and Lois Anderson. Casketbearers were Todd Peterson, Benjamin Peterson, Jeremy Peterson, Dale Anderson, Greg Anderson, Larry Johnson, Curtis Larson, and Christopher Benson. Interment was in Spruce Valley Cemetery. Military honors were accorded by the Middle River American Legion Post. Collins Funeral Home of Middle River was in charge of the arrangements.

Robert William Anderson was born on May 5, 1942, at Thief River Falls, the son of Frank and Harriet (Von Wald) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Middle River High School in 1961. Bobby served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, and following his discharge in 1966, he worked on road construction and later, as a carpenter. He was making his home in St. Paul.

Survivors include his mother, Harriet of Strathcona; six brothers, Earl (Janice) of Stephen, Wally of Strathcona, James (Alice) of Russell, Kan., Richard (Sylvia) of Edgewater, Md., Lowell of Tampa, Fla., and Brian (Brenda) of Palm Bay, Fla.; a sister, Elona (Gerald) Moen of Newfolden; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Preceding Robert in death were his father and a brother, Gordon "Corky." A00003B2002JU12
