- Mildred Anderson, 78, formerly of Badger,
died on Sunday, September 7, 2003 at Greenbush
Nursing Home.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday, September 11 at
Gieseke Funeral Chapel in Greenbush with the Rev.
LeRoy Flickinger officiating. Casketbearers were
Mildred's grandchildren. Interment was in the
Swedish Cemetery of Badger.
Mildred
Agnes Snare was born on June 28, 1925 in Roseau
County, the daughter of Ellert and Elida (Pederson)
Snare. She grew up and attended school in the area.
She was baptized and confirmed at Pauli Lutheran
Church. She worked as a family helper and chore
girl.
On July
3, 1943, she married John Richard Anderson. The
couple farmed in Badger. She also worked at the
turkey processing plant in Greenbush, as well as
the potato harvest in the Red River Valley for many
years. Mildred also worked at Polaris Industries
for several years. She enjoyed watching birds,
baking donuts, embroidering, quilting and playing
bingo. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and
enjoyed meeting the players and
announcers.
Survivors
include a daughter, Janice (Dennis) Dole of
Wannaska; two daughters-in-law, Marilyn Anderson of
Thief River Falls and Becky (Harvey) Melby of
Badger; four grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin (Ethel)
Snare of International Falls; one sister, Esther
Pietruszewski of Kennedy; and several nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mildred
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband;
two sons, Gary D. and Rick Anderson; two sisters,
Eleanor Brosdahl and Ethel Hanson; and one brother,
