Sioux
Falls, S.D. - Fern L. Anderson, 77, died on
Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at Sioux Valley
Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, September 27 at
Ramsey Baptist Church in rural Montrose, S.D. with
Rev. Al Nasman officiating. Marilyn Olinger was the
organist. A duet was sung by Loren and LaVonne
Norberg and the soloist was Lenice Wingen.
Casketbearers were Brad Judstra, Eric VanEmmerick,
John Oyen, Raymond Anderson, Isaac Anderson, Bill
Anderson, Jeff Anderson and David Oyen. Interment
was in the Ramsey Baptist Church
Cemetery.
Fern
L. Bach was born on April 21, 1925, the daughter of
Kristen and Myrthe (Jokumsen) Bach in Colman, S.D.
She grew up in the Colman-Trent, S.D. area,
graduated from Egan High School and attended
Nettleton College in Sioux Falls, S.D. She worked
for several years in Sioux Falls as a receptionist
in a doctor's office before marrying John Anderson
at First Baptist Church in Sioux Falls, S.D. on
January 18, 1957. The couple lived on a farm in the
Salem-Montrose, S.D. area until moving into Salem,
S.D. several years ago. Over the years, Fern worked
as a cook at the Home Café and Colonial
Manor Nursing Home and also worked at Raven
Industries in Salem, S.D. and at Dakota Industries
in Canistota, S.D.
Fern
was an avid reader and loved to listen to music.
She enjoyed bowling and bowled in a women's league
for 35 years.
Survivors
include her husband, John of Salem, S.D.; three
sons, Ted (Karla) of Montrose, S.D., Richard (Judy)
of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. and Roger (Melodee) of
Grand Island, Neb.; four daughters, Lorraine
(Charles) Judstra of Sioux Falls, S.D., Christine
(Gerald) VanEmmerik of Red Lake Falls, Mariann
(Charles) Oyen of Salem, S.D. and Sharon (John)
Perez of Sacramento, Calif.; 28 grandchildren; 33
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jens Bach of
Thief River Falls and Walter Bach of Flandreau,
S.D.; and three sisters, Rose Peterson of Granada
Hills, Calif., Evelyn Savellano of Los Angeles,
Calif. and Violet Kramer of Flandreau,
S.D.
Fern
was preceded in death by her parents; a brother,
