Erland Anderson, 88

Thief River Falls - Erland Anderson, 88, died Saturday, February 9, 2002 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, February 13) at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Marcia Sylvester officiating. Joyce Halbasch will be the organist, and Kenneth Poole will be the soloist. Casketbearers will be Rolland Sande, Clair Larson, Carl Berggren, Ray Johnson, Joe Forberg, Phil Bergland, and Eugene Rondorf. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Visitation was held Tuesday, February 12, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Erland J. Anderson was born on September 4, 1913 in Smiley Township of Pennington County, the son of Oscar and Julia (Hansson) Anderson. He grew up in Smiley Township where he attended Hiwatha School. Erland farmed his entire life.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Oddfellows, and the Agassiz Swedish Historical Society.

He enjoyed hunting and feeding the deer.

Erland is survived by a brother, Gote Anderson of Thief River Falls; a sister, Martha Burtness of Thief River Falls; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ina Myrom and Harriet Anderson; two brothers, Clarence and Wilhelm Anderson; two brothers-in-law; and a nephew. A00003B2002FB13
