 Argyle
- Charles L. Anderson, 72, died on Monday,
March 24, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Center in
Warren.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday, March 27 at the
Community Presbyterian Church in Argyle with the
Rev. Michael Schendel and the Rev. Don Casmey
officiating. Norita Beaudry was the organist and
Brent Radeke was the soloist. Casketbearers were
Barrett Sczepanski, Braden Sczepanski, Blake
Sczepanski, Brian Anderson, Matthew Anderson and
David Anderson. Honorary casketbearers were the
Woodlawn Cemetery Board, Jim Robertson, Evald
Clausen, Dale Swanson, Charley Hammerback and Peter
Carlson. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in
Argyle with military honors accorded by the Argyle
American Legion Post #353.
Charles
L. Anderson was born on November 17, 1930, the son
of Algot and Della (Lodoen) Anderson, in Argyle. He
grew up and attended Argyle Public School. He was a
graduate of the Minnesota School of Business and
served three years in the Korean Conflict,
stationed in Korea and Japan. In 1954, he went into
business with his father and later, owned and
operated Anderson Garage, until he retired in 1996.
On July
10, 1954, he married Anita M. Stewart in Argyle. He
was a member of the Argyle American Legion, Argyle
Lions, served three terms on the City Council, a
24-year member of the fire department, Commercial
Club member, an Elder of the Presbyterian Church
and served on the Woodlawn Cemetery Association
Board.
Survivors
include his wife, Anita; two daughters, Roberta
(Brian) Iversrud of Bloomington, and Rebecca (Bill)
Sczepanski of Stephen; six grandchildren; one
sister, Lois (Jerry) Amundgaard of Thief River
Falls; two brothers, Edward (Marion) of Fargo,
N.D., and Donald (Shirley) of Harwood, N.D.; and
many nieces and nephews.
Charles
was preceded in death by his parents; a sister,
Adla; and a granddaughter.
