- Arnold Anderson, 84, died Monday, June 18,
2001 at St. Mary's Nursing Center in Detroit
Lakes.
Funeral
services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26,
at Johnson Funeral Service in Oklee with Rev.
Steven Sparley officiating. Casketbearers were all
of Arnold's nephews. Interment was in Clearwater
Lutheran Cemetery at Trail with Johnson Funeral
Service of Red Lake Falls in charge of the
arrangements.
Arnold
Theodore Anderson was born on April 7, 1917 in
Johnson township of Polk county near Trail, the son
of Stener and Emma (Trydahl) Anderson. He was
raised in the area and attended a rural school. In
1942, Arnold entered the U.S. Army and served
during World War II. Following his honorable
discharge he farmed near Trail for a short time. He
moved to Whitewater, Mont. where he farmed and
ranched for the Milton Olson family. Following his
retirement, he returned to his family homestead
near Trail. He had resided at St. Mary's Nursing
Home since January 5, 2001.
Arnold
was a member of Clearwater Lutheran
Church.
He
enjoyed watching birds and animals.
Survivors
include two sisters, Betty Kuball of Detroit Lakes
and Violet Clark of Trail, and several nieces and
nephews.
Arnold
was preceded in death by his parents; four
brothers, Ole Anderson, Oscar Anderson, Selmer
Anderson and Henry Anderson; and an infant sister.
