
Goodridge - Theodora "Ted" Anderson, 92, died Sunday, January 24, 1999, at the C&NC unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 29, at Ekelund Lutheran Church of rural Goodridge with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Grace Hammer will be organist and soloist and casketbearers will be Richard Walker, Jeffrey Walker, Mark Anderson, Terry Anderson, Dale Anderson, Wyatt Anderson, Tim Anderson and Roger Hovet. Burial will be in Ekelund Cemetery in Highlanding township.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, January 28, at Green Funeral Home and at the church for one hour prior to services.
Theodora "Ted" Loyland was born Sept. 26, 1906, in Silverton township, Pennington county, to Tollef and Tina (Overmoen) Loyland. She was baptized at Silverton Lutheran Church and confirmed at Ekelund Lutheran Church. She attended schools near Erie and also attended Northwest School of Agriculture at Crookston.
She was employed as a cook and housekeeper in Minot, ND. In 1936 she moved with her sisters to Chicago, IL, for employment. Teddy then moved to Seattle, WA, to work in the shipyards. After World War II she returned to the Goodridge area and raised turkeys.
On Feb. 2, 1947, she was united in marriage to Jesse Anderson. They managed the River Valley Co-op Store until 1949 when they purchased the Erie Store. They resided at Erie until entering the C&NC unit of Northwest Medical Center on Nov. 6, 1993.
Ted was a member of Ekelund Lutheran Church and was active in its Ladies Aid. She enjoyed flower arranging, crafts, sewing and baking. In 1984 Jesse and Ted were recognized as Pennington County Senior Citizens of the year.
Theodora Anderson is survived by three sisters, Lillian Banner of Morton Grove, IA; Clara (Olaf) Stolaas of Oklee; and Amber Walker of Hibbing; two stepsons, Lowell (Joan) Anderson of Eden Prairie and Dean (Joyce) Anderson of Gilbert; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers Olaf and Alvin and sister Gladys Clark.
