
Greenbush - Rudee Anderson, 66, died Wednesday, August 12, 1999 at his home following a battle with cancer.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 14 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush with Reverend Ernie Christensen. Linda Sovde was the organist, and vocal music was provided by Darcy Reese. Casketbearers were Don Hedquist, Merton Kiekeide, Leif Hagen, Ernie Hemp, Duane Lorenson, Eddie Hanson, Raymond Schaller and Pat Lorenson. Military rites were accorded by American Legion Post 88 of Greenbush. Burial was in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Greenbush. The Gieseke Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
Rudee Irvin Anderson was born on November 6, 1932 in Skagen township of Roseau county near Badger, the son of Barney O. and Mabel (Myran) Anderson. He attended grade school in Greenbush and graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston in 1950. Rudee served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked in Minneapolis after the war before returning to the farm at Greenbush.
On April 5, 1958 he married Ruth Carlson at Bethel Lutheran Church at Karlstad. He farmed until 1997 when he retired.
Rudee was an active member of the Two Rivers Watershed board, Northwest Regional Development Commission, Northwest Private Industry Council, Bethel Lutheran Church of Greenbush and Pelan Pioneer Park board. He was also a member of American Legion Post 88 of Greenbush and a life member of VFW Post 3832 of Badger.
Rudee is survived by his wife, Ruth; three sons, Ronald (Susan) of Bemidji, Reed of Minneapolis and Russ (Mary) of Greenbush; one daughter, Rhonda (Dennis) Hill of Gold Canyon, AZ; one grandson; his mother, Mabel Anderson of Karlstad; three brothers, Waldo (Ruth) of Edina, Duane (Joan) of Yakima, WA and Gerald (Betty) of Bozeman, MT; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Barney Anderson on September 29, 1998. A00003B1999AG18
