Morris Anderson, 67

Butt, MT - Morris Anderson, 67, died Wednesday, February 3, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 4 at Green Funeral Home Chapel in Thief River Falls with Reverend George Bunnell officiating. Judy Chappelle was the organist and soloist.

Services were also held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 8 at Duggan-Dolan Funeral Home in Butte, MT with Reverend Dennis Masters officiating.

Morris Ingvald Anderson was born on February 13, 1931 in Humbolt, the son of Ingvald and Elizabeth Anderson. He attended rural country school near Halma. In 1948 Morris entered the U.S. Air Force, and after his honorable discharge he worked on various farms in northwestern Minnesota.

On April 7, 1956 he was united in marriage to Karen Cleem at Hallock. The couple moved to Butte, MT where Morris worked as a journeyman electrician and truck driver. The couple continued to make their home in Butte after his retirement in 1984.

He was a member of the American Legion in Butte and enjoyed playing keno, going for walks and singing. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Morris is survived by his wife, Karen of Butte, MT; three sons, Wade of Butte, Robert (Joan) of Tulsa, OK, and Joe (Candi) of Butte; five daughters, Joyce (Dave) Unterscher, Cindy (Dave) Rossiter and Lori (Skip) Maurer, all of Butte, and Lisa (Lonnie) Locke and Julie Dunaway, both of Mesquite, TX; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include his mother, Elizabeth Vanous of Thief River Falls; one brother, John (Rhonda) Anderson of Mason City, IA; two sisters, Myrtle Finney of Cedar and JoAnn Hammer of Lake Bronson; his mother-in-law, Esther Cleem of St. Vincent; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Morris was preceded in death by his father; father-in-law, Dick Cleem; two brothers, Duane Anderson and Donald R. Anderson; and a sister-in-law.
