Lloyd Anderson, 83

Middle River - Lloyd Anderson, 83, died Sunday, December 20, 1998 at his home in Middle River.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23 at First Lutheran Church in Middle River with Pastor John Jorgensen officiating. Special music was provided by Lois Peterson and Barb Geer. Casketbearers were Earl Anderson, Corky Anderson, Wally Anderson, Craig Anderson, Larry Johnson, Bob Niemi and Keith Gram. Honorary casketbearers were Lester Nordlum, Snooky Carriere, Howard Young, Kermit Magnuson, Laverne Adamson and Melvin Griffin. Burial was in Spruce Valley Cemetery in Middle River. The Collins Funeral Home of Middle River was in charge of the arrangements.

Lloyd Vernon Anderson was born on June 4, 1915 near Middle River, the son of Gotfred and Hilda (Bloomquist) Anderson. He grew up and attended school in the Middle River Community.

On September 29, 1940 he was united in marriage to Eleanor Peterson at Middle River where the couple has since made their home. Lloyd worked for Nordlum Dairy in International Falls until 1936 when he began his 40-year employment as a maintenance worker for the Great Northern Railroad. He retired in 1976.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Middle River.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Eleanor; one son, Dale (Lois) of Middle River; two granddaughters; one son-in-law, Dean (Beverly) Klegstad; three sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Susan in 1973; four brothers, Frank, Andy, Kiffy and Himmie; and two sisters, Beatrice and Myrtle.
