Harvey Anderson, 78

Thief River Falls - Harvey D. Anderson, 78, died Saturday, April 17, 1999 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center in Waterville.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20 at North Waseca Lutheran Church, Waseca County with Reverend Allan P. Tveite officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 23 at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. Casketbearers are his grandchildren, Chris Anderson, Caryn Anderson, Chad Anderson, Leigh Kunelius, John Kunelius and David Kunelius. The Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home of Waterville is in charge of the arrangements.

Harvey D. Anderson was born on March 27, 1921 in Wylie township of Pennington county, the son of John and Annie (Seeland) Anderson. He attended country school and St. Hilaire High School. He entered the U.S. Army, serving from 1941 until 1945. Following his discharge he returned to the Thief River Falls area.

On December 10, 1944 Harvey married Ester Amelia Mosbeck at Black River Lutheran Church. He drove truck as a bulk fuel distributor for Pure Oil Co. in the Thief River Falls area until 1961. He then sold cars in Thief River Falls until 1963. He moved to Faribault in 1963 and again drove truck as a bulk fuel distributor for Texaco until 1974.

Harvey returned to Thief River Falls where he farmed for six years and worked for Arctic Cat as a security guard until he retired in 1983. In retirement he worked as a sexton of Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

He enjoyed playing cards and golfing and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Thief River Falls, the Kem Temple Masonic Lodge and Shriners of Thief River Falls.

Harvey is survived by one daughter, Mary (Jim) Kunelius of Waterville; one son, Mark (Maureen) Anderson of Brainerd; six grandchildren; three sisters, Agnes Thyren of Golden Valley, Helen Stumpf of Torrence, CA and Mamie Gullingsrud of Harvey, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1995; his parents; four brothers, Carl, Melvin, Clarence and Oscar Anderson; and five sisters, Ethel Peterson, Myrtle Larson, Edna Lindquist, Pearl Hellesvig and Edith Adkins. A00003B1999AR21
