Hannah Anderson, 99

Oklee - Hannah Anderson, 99, died Thursday, July 9, 1998 at the First Care Nursing Home in Fosston.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 13 at 2 p.m. at the Petterson Funeral Chapel in Oklee with Tim Severud and Craig Winquist presiding. Barbara Swenson was the organist, and special music was provided by Tim Swenson, Donna Swenson and Karen Carlson. Casketbearers were Dennis LiaBratten, Bill Wagner, Orlando LiaBratten, Harry Stucker, Raymond Swenson and James Murray. Honorary casketbearers were all of Hannah's nieces and nephews. Burial was in Garnes Pioneer Cemetery in Garnes township of Red Lake county.

Hannah Theolina Swenson was born on June 24, 1899 in Garnes township of Red Lake county, the daughter of Ole and Borghild (Larsgaard) Swenson. She attended school in Oklee and nurses' training in Rochester.

She married Hilliard Anderson on December 22, 1930 in Cleveland, OH. Hannah worked as a nurse in hospitals as well as in private homes. Hilliard died in 1970. Hannah moved to the Oklee Senior Apartments in Oklee in 1993.

She thoroughly enjoyed her nursing profession, and in her senior years she volunteered her time to help others. She also enjoyed socializing and visiting with family and friends.

Hannah is survived by one sister, Olivia Swenson Dodge, formerly of Harrison, AR and now residing at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Selmer and Henry; and five sisters, Constance Vickerhaugen, Clara LiaBraaten, Olga Holmquist, Emma Wohlfeil and Inga Murray Linning.
