
Newfolden - Evelyn Anderson, 68, of rural Newfolden died Friday, June 6, l997 at Dakota Heartland Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 10 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Newfolden with Pastor Ollie Urdahl officiating. Kathy Rokke was the organist with Jacob Jacobson and Erling Selstad providing special music. Casketbearers were Harold Lee, Jason Lee, Jamie Lee, Jeff Lee, Kevin Helm, Randy Lee and Brent Lee. Those attending the funeral were considered honorary casketbearers. Interment was in the Opdahl Cemetery near Newfolden. The Collins Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Evelyn Mae Anderson was born May 4, 1929 at Bagley the daughter of Chester and Clara (Nelson) Nelson. She attended school and grew to womanhood at Bagley, Holt and Newfolden. On October 20, 1973 she was united in marriage to August "Otto" Anderson. They made their home in rural Newfolden and also in Roseau for a number of years. Evelyn was a member of the Thief River Falls Eagles Auxillary and American Legion and VFW Auxillaries.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Otto; one son, Clifford (Lynette) Nelson of Newfolden; two grandchildren; one sister, Betty (William) Helm of Newfolden; one brother, Ronald (Francesca) Nelson of Eau Claire, MI; one brother-in-law, Maynard (Ilene) Anderson of Hallsville, MO; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Clyde, in l957; one brother, Clarence; one sister, Doris Lee; and one brother-in-law, Avery Lee.
