Clifford Anderson, 90

Grygla - Clifford Anderson, 90, died Sunday, March 14, 1999 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 18 at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla. Joy Nordby will be the organist, and Marie Anderson will be the soloist. Casketbearers will be Glenn Anderson, Roger Anderson, Wayne Johaneson, Donald Johaneson, Dennis Sunberg and Dennis Byklum. Burial will be in Our Saviour's Cemetery in Hamre township of Beltrami county.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, March 17) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Clifford Norman Anderson was born on December 8, 1908 in Hamre township of Beltrami county, the son of Jacob and Julia (Dahl) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended rural school near Grygla in Hamre township.

Clifford attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis where he learned brick laying. He worked in construction in Grand Forks, ND from 1932 until 1945 when he returned to Grygla to work on the family farm. Clifford owned and operated his farm in Hamre township until moving to Grygla in 1991.

He was an active member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Grygla, serving as a trustee.

Clifford is survived by two sisters, Alice Johaneson of Grygla and Nina Magnuson of Huron, MI; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Arthur, Manley, Sydney, Raymond and Herbert; three sisters, Ella Anderson, Clara Englund and Lillian Sundberg; one sister-in-law; and one nephew. A00003B1999MR17
